After taking a year-long break to recalibrate her sound, Noah Cyrus has returned with a new single called “July.” The track, which has a country feel given her liberal use of the cowboy emoji in the announcement tweet, is the first taste of the 19-year-old’s debut album. She revealed on social media. “Imma be in the chat before it goes live so set your reminders n don’t fuckin’ forget. Can’t wait for you to see it.”
Noah has proven to be one of pop’s true chameleons, bouncing from the trap beats of “Again” to the pop/rock of “Stay Together” with ease. As such, a more stripped-back, organic sound should be well within her wheelhouse. In addition to chipping away at new music, the “Make Me (Cry)” hitmaker has also lent her voice to Rence’s “Expensive.”
The collaborators unleashed the video last week, which features a lot of late-night pouting and a wolf. It is interesting to see what she delivered for “July.” Check out the audio & video below.
